Litigation Services

Collaborate with legal and insurance professionals on complex construction defect litigation projects. Conduct visual inspections, perform and/or witness field water testing on exterior wall systems. Prepare written reports and water test matrixes with repair recommendations and determine building code, industry standards and contract document compliance. Attend expert meetings, mediations and testify in depositions, trials and arbitrations.

Review of any previous studies, reports, or other relevant documents

Examination of the exterior facade including curtain wall, windows, storefronts, panels, precast granite, marble, brick, caulking and other building elements for deterioration and performance issues.

Bid review and for quality assurance.

Review and comment on contractor submittals

Review provisions for internal drainage of water infiltration, thermal movement, construction tolerances, fastening devices, sealing methods and other pertinent information as necessary

Perform observations during installation and report on conformance with the Architect's design intent, Subcontractor submittals, and Manufacturer's recommendations.

Principal has been involved in the window, wall systems & related waterproofing industry for 42 years. Experience in the industry includes window manufacturing, glazing, construction estimating, construction management, window estimating, fenestration consulting, construction defect investigating and field water testing. For the past 30 years FSI has been devoted exclusively to consulting and due diligence on new and existing projects, expert witness services in litigation projects, and field-testing in the area of windows, wall systems, glazing and general waterproofing of building structures. Principal has been retained as an expert witness in over 500 cases in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado. Principal has been deposed in excess of 100 times and have testified in both jury trials and arbitrations. Principal is a ICC certified building inspector and a certified EIFS third party inspector.
